A Mother's Love - Zebra Mother and Foal

Zebras are wild equines which can be found in Southern Africa.  They give birth to one foal at a time and the foal is capable of running within an hour of birth.  Foals are cared for by their mother and protected by the herd when predators are near.

This pastel painting captures a quiet moment between a zebra mother and son. 

Each original painting is created using pastelmat and high quality lightfast pastels.
